PALATINE BUNKER HILL
The Palatine Bunker Hill is a collection of luxury residences steps away from the heart of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. Harding worked with the developer INI Greenfield to create a parking solution using the Wöhr Combilift 543 system. The first-of-its kind Semi-automated parking system to be installed in San Diego was approved by the City and Fire Department and created the benchmark for how these systems are to be designed, installed, tested, and approved for the city.
The Combilift 543 is a semi-automated parking system. These are often referred to as puzzle parking systems. The uniqueness of this product from others in the marketplace is that the lifting systems are all hydraulic resulting in smooth and rapid movements as well as lower maintenance costs over time. The nature of hydraulics frees up the parking area for the user to walk around unencumbered by chains or safety hooks. The platforms are generous and easy to park on and off. The basic principles of the Combilift 543 is that there is a level in a pit, a level at the drive surface, and a level above. 3 levels and all vehicles can be individually accessed without having to remove any vehicles. This system is completely independent.
This design is very unique with integrated sliding doors inlayed with glass for a luxury look and feel. The developer paid close attention to detail with the covering façade over and around the system. Each resident who purchases a platform in the garage is able to operate their semi-automated parking system with the optional smartphone app as well as programmed RFID chips. EV chargers have been installed within the system as well.
Harding Steel continues to work with each client identifying their needs and assist them in creating a solution. Our hands on approach is the finest in the industry. The Palatine Bunker Hill is a wonderful example of how creativity and design flexibility can come together to create a very appealing final product using mechanical parking solutions.
